South African rapper Nadia Nadia was recognised at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) on 18 September in Dallas, Texas.

Bragga scooped up the Best Southern Female Artist Award at the prestigious event hosted at the Meyerson Symphony Center.

Nadia Nakai addresses why she opted to have her BET Award nomination changed from Zimbabwe to South Africa

In another article, Briefly News reported that even though she has some ties to Zimbabwe, Nadia Nakai refuses to be recognised as a Zimbabwean rapper.

Nadia Nakai spoke more openly about this during her interview on Zingah's podcast Choppin It With Bhudha T. The rapper shared why she preferred to be recognised as a South African rapper instead of a Zimbabwean rapper after her nomination stated she's from Zimbabwe.
