History:  In 1852, Capt. R.B. Holbrook came to Central Whidbey Island and settled on 160 acres in the center of San de Fuca.  He lived in a tent through the summer, built a small log cabin in the fall, and finally built this 2-story house in 1874.  The original location of the house was just west of its present site, being moved c. 1930.  The house has passed through a long chain of ownership.

Description:  Vernacular Residence.  Wood frame set on concrete foundation; rectangle (20’ x 28’)  with gable roof addition on southwest corner and gable roof addition on north facades; 2 bays wide; 1 1/2 –stories.
