May 2024 · 2 minute read

Robert Briggs Obituary, Death – On the 2nd of December 2023, a gentle soul, Robert H.J. Briggs, departed from this world after bravely facing a prolonged illness. His passing leaves a poignant void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, but it also marks the end of his struggle and the beginning of a peaceful rest.

Robert was a cornerstone of a family that shared 40 years of love and companionship. His wife, Sabine, stood by his side through thick and thin, a testament to the strength of their bond forged over four decades of marriage. Their union blessed them with three children: Robert Briggs, Angela Briggs (Fiancé Mike Whalen), and William Briggs. In turn, the family expanded to welcome two cherished granddaughters, Caitlyn Dawson and Sophie Briggs.

Born on September 16, 1954, in Bath, Robert was the beloved son of Hugh John and Kathleen Briggs of Greenfield. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind a legacy of love shared with his siblings: Rhonda Briggs (Gary Grant), David Briggs (Fay), and Sandra Briggs (Craig Paine). Their shared memories and the familial ties that bind them will serve as a source of comfort and strength during this time of loss.

A graveside service, an intimate moment for farewells and reflections, is scheduled for Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Greenfield Cemetery at 2:30 PM. It will be a time for family and friends to gather, pay their respects, and find solace in shared memories.

In honoring Robert’s memory, those who wish to contribute can make donations to the Greenfield Cemetery Fund. This act not only memorializes Robert but also supports a place that held significance in his life.

As the Briggs family and their extended network of friends come together to bid farewell to Robert, they do so with the knowledge that his legacy lives on in the love he shared, the family he nurtured, and the memories that remain etched in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. May he rest in peace.
